This chocolate brownie batter hummus is a rich, creamy sweet chickpea dip that tastes like brownie batter while providing fiber, protein, and iron. Naturally sweetened, no-bake, and perfect for toddlers, kids, and adults.

Chocolate Brownie Batter Hummus (simple chickpea dip for kids)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 15-ounce can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ½ cup sunflower seed butter or almond or cashew butter
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder ⅓ cup for rich chocolate flavor
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 6 Medjool dates soaked and pitted (or ¼ cup pure maple syrup), feel free to increase based on taste
  • 2-4 tablespoon water or milk
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips regular or dairy-free

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients except the chocolate chips to a high-speed blender or food processor.
  • Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed and adding milk or water a tablespoon at a time to reach your desired consistency.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or vanilla if needed, blending again briefly.
  • Fold in the mini chocolate chips by hand, then serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes for a thicker brownie batter texture.
