Creamy Chicken Tortellini Soup (slow cooker chicken parm style)

This creamy chicken tortellini soup is made in the slow cooker with bone broth, marinara, tender shredded chicken, cream, and parmesan. An easy, family-friendly dinner with classic chicken parmesan flavors.

Creamy Chicken Tortellini Soup (slow cooker chicken parm style)

Ingredients
  

  • 1½-2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 6-8 cups chicken bone broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 large jar marinara sauce 24-32 oz
  • ½-1 cup heavy cream or half & half
  • 2 9-10 oz packages refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2-3 cups fresh spinach
  • Grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions
 

  • Add chicken, bone broth, garlic powder, and onion powder to the slow cooker.
  • Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
  • Remove chicken, shred, and return it to the slow cooker.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and cream. Add tortellini and cook on HIGH for 20-30 minutes, until tender.
  • Stir in spinach until wilted and serve topped with grated parmesan.
