Equipment

  • airtight container
  • measuring cups and utensils

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cups milk of choice
  • 4-5 soft Medjool dates pitted, soaked for easy blended
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 tablespoon for less thick
  • pinch sea salt

optional toppings

  • fresh berries
  • peanut butter or nut/seed butter
  • hemp hearts
  • crushed freeze-dried fruit
  • extra splash of almond milk depending consistency preference

Instructions

  • Add the milk, pitted Medjool dates, vanilla bean paste, and sea salt to a blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a bowl or mason jar. Stir in the rolled oats and chia seeds until evenly combined.
  • Cover and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours, though overnight gives the best thick and creamy texture.
  • Give the oats a good stir before serving. Add a splash of extra milk if needed to thin to your preferred consistency. Add desired toppings and enjoy.
