Ingredients You Need
Here's all you need to make these mixed berry yogurt popsicles for toddlers:

- Greek yogurt brings protein, calcium, and healthy fat - all critical for growth and brain development at this age
- mixed berries are loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants, and make the popsicles that natural attractive color + flavor!
- chia seeds are one of the best sneaky nutrition additions you can make, high in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and iron and almost invisible once mixed in (you can even blend if needed)
- rolled oats on the bottom add a little whole grain goodness and that satisfying crunch
See recipe card for quantities.
How to Make Your Mixed Berry Yogurt Popsicles

- Step 1: In a bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, berries (make sure to mash some), chia seeds, and a dash of vanilla until fully combined. Add honey if you're wanting them a bit more sweet. You'll end up with a thick, vibrant berry-pink mixture.

- Step 2: Set the bowl aside for 5 minutes. This gives the chia seeds time to absorb and swell slightly, which improves the final texture. Then start dolloping on parchment lined sheet pan or scoop into a popsicle mold.

- Step 3: Sprinkle a small amount of rolled oats, granola, or hemp hearts on top of the yogurt mixture in each glob or mold and press down lightly. Once frozen and flipped out, this becomes a satisfying little crust on the bottom, like the base of a yogurt parfait! Insert your popsicle sticks and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

- Step 4: Once frozen, pull away from parchment paper or run warm water over the outside of the mold for 10-15 seconds and they'll release easily. Serve right away or transfer to a zip-lock freezer bag for storage.
Tips for Getting Toddlers to Actually Eat These Berry Yogurt Popsicles
- let it soften for a minute before handing it over easier for little ones to lick or bite into
- blend the berries smooth for texture-sensitive toddlers, the pretty pink color does the convincing for you
- let your toddler hold the stick from the start, ownership goes a long way with picky eaters
- include them in the process of making them, because when they feel like THEY made them it makes the world of difference (plus it's just an extra time for exposure
- give the popsicles a FUN name like superman pops, Bluey pop, yogurt sucker, whatever they like!

They make the best stroller snack, but YES they definitely can be messy so bring some wipes!

Equipment
All you need to make these are some popsicle sticks, parchment paper, and a baking sheet! You can totally use a popsicle mold or whatever you like to freeze in.
No Popsicle Molds? Here's What to Use Instead!
- silicone ice cube tray with toothpick sticks inserted once the mixture has started to set (about 30 minutes in)
- small paper or plastic cups - just peel the cup away once frozen
- a regular ice cube tray for mini bite-sized pieces, no stick needed (great for younger toddlers)
- popsicle sticks + parchment paper + baking sheet - like I did for these! makes it super easy just sticking a popsicle stick in them or eating as handhelds
Storing Your Mixed Berry Yogurt Popsicles
Once fully frozen, peel them from the parchment paper or pop them out of the molds and store in a labeled zip-lock freezer bag. They keep well for up to one month. I like to make a batch of 6-8 at a time so I always have them on hand for busy mornings or afternoon snack emergencies.
Tiff's Dietitian Tip
Full-fat Greek yogurt is the move for toddlers! They need dietary fat for brain development, and it also keeps them fuller longer than low-fat versions. Pair that with the fiber from chia seeds and berries and you've got a snack that actually sustains them, not just satisfies them in the moment.
Also, if your toddler isn't a fan of yogurt or berries then these mixed berry yogurt popsicles is a great way to offer those in a more consistent + predictable form!

FAQ
Yes! When made with the right ingredients. These mixed berry yogurt popsicles are made with full-fat Greek yogurt, real fruit, and chia seeds, with no added sugar. They're essentially a frozen yogurt parfait, making them a solid breakfast or snack option for toddlers.
Full-fat plain Greek yogurt is ideal. It's thick, creamy, high in protein, and doesn't have any added sugar or artificial flavors. The fat content is also important for toddlers' brain development.
Absolutely! You can stir them in frozen or thaw and stir in the juices.
Yes! Chia seeds are safe for toddlers and are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and iron. Once mixed into the yogurt, they soften and swell, so there's no choking concern.
Of course, the oats are optional. The popsicles are delicious without them too. They just add a nice texture contrast and a little extra whole grain goodness.
Honey is safe for toddlers over 12 months but remember, ideally we still want to avoid as much added sugar as possible until littles are 2 years old. For babies under 12 months, skip it - the berries are sweet enough on their own.
