Ingredients You Need
To make these frozen yogurt melts for toddlers, all you need is:
- plain Greek or dairy-free yogurt (flavored works too)
- fruit of choice
- optional maple syrup or honey & vanilla extract for extra flavor
See recipe card for quantities.
How To Make Your Frozen Yogurt Melts

- Step 1: Mash or blend together the Greek yogurt, fruit, vanilla, and optional sweetener until smooth and creamy.

- Step 2: Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag and snip off a small corner.

- Step 3: Pipe small dime-sized dots onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

- Step 4: Freeze for 2-3 hours or until completely firm. Store in a freezer-safe container for an easy grab-and-go snack.
Hint for the Best Frozen Yogurt Melts
For the creamiest texture and the best flavor, use full-fat Greek yogurt and ripe, naturally sweet fruit. If your mixture seems too thin, add a little more Greek yogurt until it's thick enough to hold its shape when piped. Freeze the melts until completely firm before transferring them to a container, and enjoy them straight from the freezer since they'll soften quickly at room temperature.
Substitutions
These frozen yogurt melts are already gluten-free, egg-free, and nut-free!
- Greek yogurt: Plain, vanilla, full-fat, low-fat, regular yogurt, or your favorite dairy-free yogurt
- fruit: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, mango, pineapple, cherries, banana, or mixed berries (fresh or frozen both work)
- vanilla: omit if you don't have it, or swap for a pinch of cinnamon
- honey: optional, you can also use maple syrup honey to lightly sweeten
- higher fiber: blend in 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds or ground flaxseed
- dairy-free: use a thick dairy-free yogurt, such as coconut or almond yogurt
- naturally sweeter: add half of a ripe banana instead of honey or maple syrup
- extra flavor: mix in a little lemon or orange zest, cinnamon, or unsweetened shredded coconut
Best Fruits to Use for Yogurt Melts
One of my favorite things about this frozen yogurt melts recipe is how versatile it is! Try using:
- mixed berries
- strawberries
- blueberries
- mango
- peaches
- raspberries
- blackberries
- banana
- pineapple
- cherries
Flavor Variations
- strawberry vanilla - blend strawberries, Greek yogurt, vanilla, and optional honey
- blueberry lemon - blend blueberries with a tiny squeeze of lemon juice
- peach cobbler - use peaches with a sprinkle of cinnamon
- mango coconut - blend mango with coconut yogurt or a splash of coconut milk
- banana cinnamon - blend ripe banana with cinnamon and vanilla
Equipment You Need
You only need a few simple kitchen tools to make these frozen yogurt melts:
- freezer-safe container or bag – for storing the frozen yogurt melts after they've set
- blender or food processor – to blend the yogurt and fruit until smooth (or let your toddler mash the fruit in a zip-top bag for a chunkier version!)
- mixing bowl – if stirring everything together by hand
- zip-top bag or piping bag – for piping the yogurt melts into small dots
- scissors – to snip the corner of the bag
- baking sheet, plate, or tray – something that fits in your freezer
- parchment paper or a silicone baking mat – to prevent sticking
Storing Your Frozen Yogurt Melts
Store frozen yogurt melts in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months. Enjoy straight from the freezer or let them thaw slightly at room temp to soften up some!

Toddler Dietitian Tiff's Tip
One of my favorite ways to encourage food exploration is by getting toddlers involved. Let them mash the fruit in a sealed bag, mix everything together, and even help pipe the little yogurt melts onto the tray. They may be even more excited to taste something they helped create!
FAQ
Yes! These make a wonderful snack for babies who are already eating yogurt and finger foods. If serving to babies under 12 months, skip the honey and make sure the melts are appropriately sized for your little one.
Of course! Just use your favorite dairy-free yogurt.
Yep! Honestly, using a yogurt pouch makes these WAY easier and quicker!
Yes. Because they're made with real yogurt and fruit, they soften fairly quickly. They're best enjoyed right out of the freezer.
